Friends Really ARE that important

Follow along with me as I recount the 4 o'clock hour at our house today. We had been on errands most of the day, spending most of the afternoon at Grandma Johnson. Ava was asleep in the car, I was unloading groceries and Sadee, well... Sadee was divising a plan. She wanted any and all the kids outside to be drawn to our house to play.

Sadee- "Mom, Danica and Brighton just said what's up and then road away on their bikes. They aren't coming back mom."
Me- "Just ride your bike. We only have 30 minutes till, yes, we have to leave again. (she hates hearing that)

Sadee- ok.

After unloading groceries I notice a strange connoction of random things in our garage now out on the pavement. I am curious.

Me- What ya doing Sad?

Sadee- I am tired of having no friends. I setting up something so fun and so intriguing (she really said that) that all those kids will come here and play.

Mom- Do you think it will work? (trying to not critize her)

Sadee- I hope so, cause I'm jealous. (wow, very open with that one) And I don't think the kids like me. ( sad huh)
me- I think they're just busy with some project or other get-together already. Your a great friend. Most people like you honey.

Sadee- I think it's changed so i am taking my friends back... I can't talk mom. I have to keep thinking.
Seriously... did I say the right thing? She is only 6... it's already starting

1st Felt Fantastic!

I won... and it felt great. I was ready with lots of determination on this one which paid off.

I was the 1st female and 3rd overall with only 2 SUPER RUNNER men ahead of me. But I have to say the best part of whole day was crossing the finishline and having the director of the race say..

"WHO ARE YOU?!" " Are you a local?"

That was better than any prize or time. I also met the "famous" people from the Idaho Falls Magazine headed to Boston this year and even got an invite to run with their group. Coolio!

My time was 40:14, a 6:24 avg. pace- a little slower than I wanted but enough to win.

Next race i will...

1. Strip more layers before starting... I got VERY hot!
2. Use the bathroom RIGHT before the race.
3. Have overcome the chocolate problem. :)

Dave snapped a couple pics and the girls came with their pom poms to cheer me on.

Now onto SLC!
Ready to roll...

The last 1/2 mile

Happily finished

The 1:30 HOLE

Poor little Sadee had quite the fall today in primary. Trying to stand by mom at the piano she tripped and got a mouth full of the corner of the bench. She stood up immediately with wide eyes and only seconds later the blood began. Two loose teeth and a hole is what she is left with. I guess her mouth must have been open because that bench corner punctured straight through her gum line. OUCH!!

The dentist says she'll heal up with no stiches... thankfully.

Upgrade PLEASE!

This a picture from last summer's Scenic Falls 10k. I did well. I ran a respectable 44:02 and won 3rd overall and 1st in my age division.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH

This next weekend I'm shooting for an upgrade. I want to win. No, I can't predict the competition but I am going to run my guts out and hope that my training pays off and I can run a sub 40 race and grab a win this time around.

6 days to go.

Today's time was 39:51...

Now we'll see if it's enough to win.

"Who Are You?"

This is just too funny not to post. Last night I went to bed arount 10:45pm.

Around 11:45pm Dave came home from b-ball.

Somewhere in the middle of that hour I slept myself into QUITE the dream. I don't recall it but I remember hearing scary noises, people, unfamiliar noise. In my dream I was sure there was an intruder in my house.

That is the end of my memory.

BUT

Dave laughing tells me this morning that I boldly asked, "WHO ARE YOU?", as he walked into the bedroom last night. I then crawled up and begged him not to touch me or I would wrestle him. Don't those two statements contradict one another????

That's right people... wrestle him.

What kind of woman would wrestle an intruder?

I guess I should have explained EARLIER that I've been known to sleepwalk. Tis' true.

Oh, and I was glad it was only Dave. :)

Start 'em early

Sadee has show HUGE interest in exercising with me. It's really very cute. I was so proud of her last night. She completed....

3 Sets of 25 squat thrusts
3 Sets of 5 pull-ups
100 sit-ups
50 squats
bicep curls and shoulder presses with her 2lb. weights
2 minutes of plank poses
Wall squats and...

1/4 mile run in 3 min.

Ava even joined in on the fun.

Afterwards she ate her WHOLE plate of turkey and potatoes for dinner. She was hungry!

GO SADEE!

I'm signing her up for the kids mile run this summer.

PF Changs HAS A RUN FOR THEIR $$$

I made my own lettuce wraps tonight- found the exact recipe on a this site

www.recipezaar.com

and decided to give it a try. YUMMY! So similar I was estatic! Now I can make them at home anytime I want. I tried the mix on top of a salad for dinner. I think I like it better than as wraps.

Now I only miss Utah for 99 things instead of 100. I can cross PF Changs Lettuce Wraps OFF the list.:)

Looking for 10K race

I've been reading lots about racing lately and feel like I really need to run a 10K sometime before April. I think it will help me gage my progress. Anyone know of any held this month???

UPDATE... Nevermind- found one. The PR Series @ Community Park on Saturday, March 21st. They have both a 5k and 10K that day. Registration is only $20.

I'll be there. Anyone want to join? Jessie, you interested? Anyone else??

I'M ON MY WAY BABY!

This weekend's run was awesome. I was so proud of my progress that I had to take a picture of the stats. I am definitely pumped about racing after my PR this running season after this weekend's long run. I think it might be one of the best long runs I've ever had and it was even on a tredmill.

13.1 miles in 1:37:04

I am amazed at how comfortable a 7 to 7:30 mile pace is for me now. Speed work WORKS people!

Now if I can just kick about 30 sec or so off each mile and stop stuffing my face with chocolate I will have my sought after time of 90 minutes or less.

YEAH!
